JUNIOR PRODUCT DEVELOPER

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are searching for a motivated, creative-minded, quick-thinking individual to join our rapidly expanding team. Reporting to the Director & Head of Design, as the Junior Product Developer you will be responsible for assisting in the successful conceptualisation, development, production and on-time delivery of our class-leading swimwear, activewear, apparel and accessories. You will work directly on new-to-market products, as well as fine-tuning our market-leading lines, known and loved for over a decade. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS 

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role and industry
• A passion for design, swimwear, activewear and the broader female fashion market
• Basic understanding of garment development
• Basic understanding of spec creation
• General knowledge of Adobe Suite
• General Knowledge of online office tools
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of the Moana community, brand mission and values
• Excellent interpersonal and digital communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships
• High attention to detail, accuracy and quality
• Ability to both self-manage and take direction with regards to workload and core responsibilities
• Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
• A sense of pride and passion in both your personal and employers’ work
• Actively identifies new areas for learning and needs to stay up to date and leading edge in area of expertise
• Regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities; uses newly gained knowledge and skill on the job through their application

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Act as a part of the Product team to ensure the business is keeping ahead of production trends and staying relevant.
• Developing product from design handover to bulk production
• Maintaining the sample room in a clean, organised, and professional manner
• Measuring and commenting on prototypes to suppliers to ensure designs are created to a high quality
• Approval of Lab dips & Trims
• Random Quality Control checks of Bulk orders delivered to the warehouse
• Improve and identify products to be developed through research, trend monitoring and engaging with our community at a grass roots level
• Manage samples daily and ensure all comments and supplier relationships are handled professionally and efficiently
• Ensure garment tech standards are maintained and a high degree of attention to detail
• Assist the design team with final product drawings, measurement specs & tech packs for production
• Submit tech packs and communicate with offshore suppliers on product specifications & enquiries, from prototype stage through to bulk production
